Commissioning, Testing, & Standards

October 02, 2017

On September 14th, ESS hosted an Electrical Testing and Commissioning event here in St. Louis. A summary of the topics were NFPA 70E changes, Commissioning, and Electrical Testing & Maintenance updates.

Every three years, the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) updates NFPA 70E: Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace®. The intent of the standard is to reduce exposure to the hazards of shock, arc flash, and arc blast while working on or near exposed electrical conductors or circuit parts that are or can become energized. However, based on review of the proposed changes for the 2018 release, the NFPA standard aims higher by making hazard elimination a top priority.
